Search Everything is the most reliable and efficient search plugin for WordPress.org. It extends WordPress’ default search engine so that you can find more types of content. You can control which custom taxonomiesattachments, types of comments, etc. that the plugin should consider when searching, delivering personalized results.

Today we are proud to announce our first major update to Search Everything plugin, which gives bloggers advanced search functionality while they write.

The Search Everything writing helper enables you to link to what you’ve written in the past, has great SEO benefits, and is a powerful tool to keep visitors on your site longer. All you have to do to insert the link is click on the results, and a “vest pocket” will be added into your post where your cursor is.

When designing this feature, we were inspired by Research sidebar that Google added to Google Docs recently, and by our own Zemanta Editorial Assistant that has been recommending articles, links, images and tags to hundreds of thousands of bloggers since 2007. Editorial Assistant is used by top media companies like Forbes and VentureBeat, as well as numerous bloggers like yourself. By joining the Zemanta family, you are in good company.

What are you waiting for, give it a try! ;)

    Hi Bostjan,
First a giant thank you for Zemanta!

BUT why hasn’t it been ported to run under Linux and LibreOffice?

I am a serious Writer (vis: starve if I don’t sell) and couldn’t escape Windoze for years because I NEED the fabulous Dragon voice-2-text program, now it can be ported to Linux so all that is left to be great is:
    Zemanta in Linux.

One odd thought: What about a list of objectionable words by popular vote that can be not searched?

    Cheers!
    Jack

I agree, but the thing is that our semantic engine driving the external search is optimized for English language and cannot be easily extended with additional languages. However, I’m quite confident we’ll find a way to offer research functionality for other languages, including Russian.

    It’s a pity!

  • Mateja

Are you referring to the external search? If so, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you… Currently we support English language only and we don’t have plans to add other languages in the near future.

  • Ibserver

how things are going with the addition of a search for other languages ??such as Russian?

This is an incredible new tool for bloggers. Links to your own posts are important, almost as important as linking to scholarly works such as .edu and .gov. Thanks for updating the plugin, I can’t wait to try it on my blog.
